Before becoming a full-time creator, I worked as both an AP language teacher and a linguist engineer, experiences that now shape my work as an AI visibility strategist. I never imagined my career would take me from teaching high school languages to engineering AI systems, publishing bestselling books, and documenting luxury hospitality from San Francisco to destinations around the world.
Looking back, every chapter prepared me for the work I do today.
For more than a decade, I taught AP languages and served as a department chair before transitioning into the technology industry as a linguist engineer and technical program manager. Working at the intersection of language and artificial intelligence gave me an early understanding of how machines process information—knowledge that would later become unexpectedly valuable in the age of AI search.
After relocating to San Francisco in 2019, I immersed myself in the city’s luxury hospitality, culinary, and cultural scene while continuing to travel internationally. What began as a creative outlet gradually became a career built around editorial storytelling, helping readers discover memorable experiences while helping brands build lasting visibility.
Then life changed.
Divorce, career transitions, the technology layoffs, and rebuilding my life challenged nearly every part of my identity. Those experiences shaped not only my personal life but also my work as an author writing under the pen name S. M. Weng, where I explore inner child healing, emotional resilience, and spiritual growth.
Today, I live at the intersection of two worlds.
As a luxury lifestyle creator, I partner with hotels, restaurants, destinations, fashion, beauty, and wellness brands to create cinematic editorial content that inspires people to experience the world.
As an AI visibility strategist, I help brands understand how that same content becomes discoverable across search engines and AI systems long after it is published.

More importantly, it reflects years of curiosity, resilience, and a belief that meaningful stories deserve to be remembered.
